Tim Henman almost retires
British tennis star close, but no cigar
Former British number one "Tiger" Tim Henman yesterday came very close to retiring, missing out in the final stages.
Tim, 34, still has plans to almost write an autobiography, but pundits predict that he'll get half-way through the final chapter before suffering a crisis of confidence and being out-muscled by his word processor.

Half of candidates "above average"
The value of a GCSE was put into question today when it was revealed that almost 50% of candidates achieved an above average ranking. Education secretary Fiona Hyslop denied accusations of dumbing down.
