The Stig: I'm the Banker

'Top Gear' driver 'fesses up

Top Gear's mysterious driver stunned the world yesterday when he announced that he is the banker on Channel 4's 'Deal or No Deal?'

"It seemed perfect." said the Stig, 38(ish), "Noel [Edmonds] needed someone inconspicuous on the other end of the phone.

"I do sometimes have trouble making myself understood" he explained "as I'm contractually obliged not to remove my helmet"

Richard 'Hamster' Hammond, Top Gear presenter and occasional drag-queen racer, refused to confirm or deny the true identity of the Stig. He did, however, tell NewsBeast that the BBC was rife with rumours of their stars moonlighting on other TV shows.

He claimed that Natasha Kaplinsky spends her weekday tea-times in Countdown's dictionary corner under the nom-de-plume 'Susie Dent'. "Anyone can see that Susie Dent is a made-up name" claimed Hammond. "It's an anagram of Nude Sites" - alluding to one of Kaplinsky's alleged favourite past-times.

"And as for Chris Moyles. You don't see him and Johnny Vegas in the same room ever".
